Thermal Storage Tanks are cylindrical stainless steel buffer tanks that store hot or cold water without mixing the two. Beltecno Japan’s proprietary simulation software sizes the internal distributor to your specific cooling load, not a standard catalogue size.

The cooling device continuously circulates chilled water to keep the servers cool, while the buffer tank holds a reserve of cold water on standby, ready to take over at any moment.
If a power failure occurs, the system switches to backup power — but that switchover takes about 10 minutes to complete. During that gap, it’s the buffer tank that keeps cold water flowing to the equipment, so cooling never actually stops.
The buffer tank’s capacity is calculated directly from your backup power’s switchover time, so it never runs dry before normal cooling resumes.
High-temperature water entering the tank spreads across the full cross-section near the inlet, then advances toward the outlet without mixing with the cooler water below it. This flow condition — a perfect push-flow — is what lets the tank keep discharging genuinely cold water for as long as possible, instead of a gradually-warming blend.
